Specialty Vinyl Materials
Specialty vinyl is separated from the standard color chart because the finish, installation surface, design size and flexibility are often more important than the base color. Read each material's notes carefully before ordering.
Important application note: Many metalized and specialty materials are not recommended for inside-glass installation or compound curves. A compound curve bends in two nonlinear directions, similar to the surface of a ball.
Chrome & Mirror Finishes
Best for: Show vehicles, helmets, race cars and decorative decals. Keep in mind: Mirror-finish vinyl is thicker than standard vinyl and is not recommended for compound curves or inside-glass applications.

Dark Smoke This is a dark tinted vinyl that allows some color below the decal to show through. The example photo shows the the Dark Smoke installed (on the left side) on 4 different colored surfaces (Red, Orange, Silver, and Yellow). Works great for shadows!
Reflective Vinyl
Best for: Night visibility, safety markings and decals that need to stand out when illuminated by headlights. Reflective vinyl appears similar to regular vinyl during the day and reflects brightly when direct light hits it at night.
Reflective vinyl returns light toward its source, making decals much more visible when illuminated by headlights, a flashlight, or a camera flash. In normal daylight, the colors can look similar to standard vinyl but may have a pearl or metallic appearance.

Important information about reflective vinyl
- Do not use reflective vinyl on the inside of glass when you want the selected color visible from outside. The adhesive side is silver, so the decal will appear silver through the glass.
- Reflective vinyl is considerably thicker than standard vinyl—approximately 5–7 mil. Designs with fine details may need to be ordered 1–2 inches larger than the minimum listed size so the details can be cut successfully.
- Reflective material is best suited to smooth or gently curved surfaces and is not recommended for compound curves.
Reflective Colors in Normal Light
Reflective vinyl does not need to look illuminated all the time. These photos show how several colors appear under normal lighting in photo on the left. The photo on the right shows how they look at night.
Reflective White
Reflective White is shown on the right beside Arctic White. It has a pearl-white appearance in normal light and may look like a very light metallic silver in certain lighting.

Reflective Red
The first comparison shows Reflective Red on the left and Cardinal Red on the right. Reflective Red is close to Cardinal Red in regular light, but becomes much brighter when illuminated.

Reflective Blue

Reflective Black
Shown beside Ultra Black in darkness with a camera flash. Reflective Black normally appears dark gray rather than a deep glossy black.

Reflective Yellow
Shown beside Canary Yellow in darkness with a flash. The reflective-yellow material changed in November 2019. The current material is brighter and has a more neon or lemon-yellow appearance than the older material.

Outdoor Life Expectancy
| Outdoor Life Expectancy for your decals. This is a rough estimate from the manufacturer of each color and is based on "normal" outdoor conditions. Extreme conditions can shorten life expectancy while if the decal is inside or garaged for most of its life will greatly increase the life of the decal. | |

Custom-Made for Your Order
Every decal is made to order according to the size, color/material, and other options you select on the order form.
Commercial-Quality Materials
Our decals are made from commercial-quality vinyl designed to last for years in outdoor conditions. Exact outdoor life varies by material and application.

Choose Your Size
Most designs can be made in nearly any size. Sizes are normally measured from left to right, and you can choose your desired width on the order form.
Some products, including certain stick-figure decals, custom lettering by height, etc, may use a different sizing method when noted.
Choose Your Color or Material
Single-color decals can be made in any available color shown on our vinyl color chart.
For full-color printed decals, you will normally select a material rather than a vinyl color. Printed colors may also be adjusted when the design allows.
Most Decals Have No Background
The white rectangle used to display the product image is usually not part of the decal. Most of our decals are cut around the shape of the design, allowing the color of the application surface to show through the open areas.
Some full-color designs intentionally include white areas, a printed background, or a contour around the design. Check the product image and description for details.
Adhesive and Installation
Our decals normally have adhesive on the back for installation on the outside of a clean, smooth surface. Front-adhesive decals for installation inside glass are also available for most designs.
Optional Shadows and Outlines
Many single-color transfer decals can be ordered with a shadow, outline, or contour in a second color.
Automatic Quantity Discounts
Available quantity discounts are calculated automatically as you order. When applicable, qualifying items do not need to have the same design. *Some coupons cannot be combined with other promotions.

Understanding the Different Decal Styles
The examples below show three common decal styles. The exact construction of your decal depends on the product and material options selected.
Die-Cut Transfer Decal
Only the individual parts of the design remain after installation. There is no printed background, so the application surface shows through all open areas of the design.
The product image may show the design in black for clarity, but your finished decal will be made in the color you select.
Full-Color Transfer Decal
The artwork is printed in full color, but selected open areas can still be removed. The application surface will show through those cut-out portions.
Thin cut lines shown in the product artwork help indicate which interior areas will be removed.
Contour-Cut Printed Decal
The entire design is printed and cut around its outside shape. Depending on the artwork, the decal may include a white border, colored contour, or solid printed background.
A thin outline in the product image may be used to show the approximate outer cut line.
